How HousePing works

HousePing remembers your home's details by text and reminds you when things are due. No app, just texts.

1. Get started

2. Save something

Just text it in plain words:

• “furnace filter 20x25x4”
• “dishwasher Bosch SHX878, warranty ends 2027-03-01”
• “water heater flushed today, every 1 year”

📷 Or text a photo of a filter, appliance label or warranty card. Add a few words like “basement furnace” to help label it. You'll get a private 📷 link to view the photo anytime. Only people with the link can open it, and it's deleted along with the item.

3. Ask or see your list

• LIST shows everything saved, each with a number (#1, #2…)
• Ask a question: “what size is my furnace filter?”
• Text just a number, like 3 or SHOW 3, to see that one item
• “send the dishwasher warranty” texts back a saved photo
• “order furnace filter” gets a reorder link

4. Reminders

• Filters and similar items get a reminder schedule automatically (thicker filters last longer).
• REMINDERS shows what's due in the next 30 days
• DONE 4 marks item #4 replaced today (DONE 1, 2 works too)
• change 4 every 60 days sets your own schedule (days, weeks, months or years)

5. Delete items

• DELETE 4 removes item #4
• Delete several at once: DELETE 1, 5 and 6 or a range like DELETE 2-4 (REMOVE works too)
• After a delete, your list renumbers itself 1, 2, 3… with no gaps, so text LIST to see the new numbers before using one
• Deleting an item also deletes its photo and photo link
• To fix something, delete it and text it again

6. Share with a friend

Text SHARE and you'll get an invite with your code to forward yourself. We never text anyone for you.

7. Share a list with your household

1. Text HOUSEHOLD to get a join code (good for 48 hours).
2. Your family member texts START first, then JOIN and the code, like “JOIN AB12CD”.
3. You both see the same list and get the reminders.

• LEAVE goes back to your own list
• REMOVE 1234 removes a member (last 4 digits of their number)

8. Seasonal tips

A few times a year HousePing texts a timely tip, like changing the furnace filter in fall or testing smoke detectors when the clocks change. Each tip comes at most once a year.
